A real estate agent who helps clients buy a property is sometimes called a buyer’s agent.
Buyer's will often turn to real estate agent's when they’re in the market to buy a house, or a new office space, land, or even investment properties. Because real estate agents typically know the ins and outs of the real-estate market, they can use their expertise to match the buyer with a property best suited for their needs and wants.
Here are some of the key roles we provide our client's at Johnson Realty, when we work for you as a buyer's agent.
If you are thinking of buying a home, or other property, we are here to help navigate the way. We make buying simple. Get started today and let us show you which homes are for sale in our area. We serve Duplin, Pender, Onslow, Wayne and Sampson counties!
YOU CLOSED OUT ! Now What? We suggest taking the following steps immediately once you have closed on your new home!
1.Change your locks. Spares could be floating around and how many of us have given keys out to family, and lost keys to our home before? You may want to consider having the locks rekeyed as well. It is often times much cheaper!
2.Hide an extra key in a lockbox or somewhere no one can find it- except you.
3.Reset the key codes for garage doors, gates, etc. - We often times forget about these and they are important security areas you need to remember.
4. Install, check batteries or buy new carbon monoxide detectors , fire alarms and smoke detectors. Be sure these are working correctly!
5.Check your batteries for your emergency flashlights and be sure they are operating and not expired.
6.Install exterior lighting as needed. Repair or replace motion detection lights around your homes exterior.
7.Be sure you have fire extinguishers on hand.
8.Put a fire extinguisher in your kitchen under the stove/sink area and leave one under each bathroom sink. (Don't forget the upstairs too if your home has more than one floor!)
9.Replace all filters in your HVAC units and date the filter when you install it. We suggest changing them atleast every 3 months-more if you have animals in your home, smoke, etc.
10.Label panel boxes so you know what switch operates what appliances( inside and outside if needed). It's a good idea to have a electrician label the box so it's correct!
11.Clean out your dryer vent and the pipe that goes under your home to the exterior. This duct can be a fire hazard if it becomes loaded with lint, pet hair and debris. In addition the dryer may not operate and heat does not get into the dryer to dry your clothes if the line is clogged. You should have this down yearly to prevent fires!
12.Did you purchase a home that has well water? Call a plumber and have them come over and educate you on well operation, pump action and how to " winterize" your well during the winter months. No one wants to wake up to frozen pipes and no water! Learn where your cut off valve is for your town or county water supply or your well, depending on your water source!
13.Did you purchase a home with a septic tank? Educate yourself on where your lines are so you do not drive over your septic lines. Educate yourself about what can be flushed into a septic tank and what can not be flushed!
14.Review insurance policies! You just closed and your lender required insurance, right? But, you may want to purchase additional policies such as flood insurance. Put your insurance policy somewhere safe where you can access it quickly.
15.Pack an emergency box. Fill your emergency box with everything your family would need including medications, baby food, diapers, batteries, cash money, canned goods, pet food, bottled water, a weather radio, in an emergency situation! Hurricane season is no joke here in eastern NC. Be prepared!
